Authority in Christ…

One time Jesus gave authority to his disciples to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness, to preach the kingdom of God, and authority over unclean spirits. This account is found in Matthew 10, Mark 6, and Luke 9.

God gave this authority, and outside of Christ there is no authority.

“I tell you the truth, anyone ho has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
—John 14:12-14

So what he’s saying is that I can raise the dead, in His name; I can heal the blind, in His name; I can walk on water, in His name; I can turn water into wine, in His name; and so much more. Whew, that’s a lot to take in. God I want to see your glory, and live in your splendor and love, and in the authority of your beautiful name.
